Nominator's project description
| The Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel-Award is given to Professor Sean Smith from the University of Brisbane (Australia) in acknowledgment of his outstanding achievements in the area of theoretical molecular reaction dynamics and its connection to molecular spectroscopy. He has contributed to the understanding of quantum-state selected dissociation processes of small molecules. In addition he investigates the dynamic properties of imbedded chromophores of fluorescent proteins. In Germany, Professor Smith works on the project "Unimolecular Reaction Dynamics: from isolated molecules to protein-embedded chromophores" |
